There is no shortage of good lullaby apps, and two of the six below are free with nothing to buy at all. What none of them do is respond. You choose a track, it plays, and if your baby is still crying four minutes later it is still playing — because nothing in the app knows that. Dreamify is built the other way round: it keeps moving through a tagged library, and with the optional camera on, an unhappy face is enough to move it on.

Use Don't Cry My Baby.
Free, twelve lullabies, twelve white-noise sounds, and it records your own voice too. Dreamify only earns its price on the nights when the thing you always play stops working.
You want stories, not music
Use Moshi Kids or Familify Storybook.
Over a thousand hours for ages 0–12 at $79.99 a year, or $59.99 for Familify. Nothing we ship competes with a catalogue that size, and nothing we plan to ship will.
The one who needs settling is you
Use Medito or Calm.
Both are meditation apps for adults with children's content inside them, and Medito is free, ad-free and run by a nonprofit. Dreamify has nothing for the parent.
Your child is past the baby stage
Use Moshi, Familify, Calm or Medito.
Dreamify is designed for babies 0–12 months and tuned hardest for 0–6. The others keep being useful for years after we stop being the right tool.

What each one costs

This is the least comfortable section on the page. Dreamify is the most expensive app here by a wide margin — two of the six are free with no in-app purchase at all, the dearest of the rest costs $79.99 a year, and the cheapest paid year is $21.49 against our $199.99. There is no way to write that so it sounds good, so here it is written plainly.

What the money is not buying is a bigger pile of audio. Moshi alone has over a thousand hours of it, for $79.99 a year, and two apps here will give you lullabies for nothing tonight. What it buys is the one thing none of the six do: something that changes course while your baby is still upset.

Which is also why the free tier has no card, no account and no countdown on it. Find out whether that is worth anything in your house before you decide it is worth that.
